Under the patronage of Khaled El-Dardali, President of Zagazig University; the leadership of Hanan El-Nahas, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and under the supervision of Shaimaa Abdel-Ghani Attallah, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law and Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development,

the Faculty of Law participated on Saturday, 13 December 2025, in the Zagazig University outreach convoy that headed to Al-Saadat Village, affiliated with Belbeis Center in Sharkia Governorate.

The convoy included the participation of Ahmed Khashana, Assistant Lecturer of Public International Law at the Faculty of Law, who delivered a lecture entitled “Combating Corruption between International and Egyptian Efforts,” on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day. His lecture addressed several key axes related to confronting corruption at both the international and national levels.

He began by defining corruption and outlining its various forms, highlighting the factors contributing to its spread and its negative impacts on individuals and societies. He also emphasized the importance of combating corruption and the necessity of activating mechanisms of prevention and confrontation.

He then moved on to discuss international efforts to combat corruption, reviewing the role of the United Nations in this field, particularly through the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).

The lecture further addressed Egypt’s efforts to combat corruption, noting that the Egyptian Constitution of 2014, in Article 218, obliges the State to combat corruption. He also referred to Egypt’s accession to the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

In addition, he highlighted the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and the establishment of the National Anti-Corruption Academy pursuant to Law No. 207 of 2017, as well as the State’s efforts to promote governance and digital transformation, train public employees, and support oversight bodies by granting them the necessary independence to effectively perform their role in combating corruption.

This participation comes within the framework of the Faculty of Law’s commitment to fulfilling its awareness-raising role to the fullest, through addressing contemporary issues from a legal perspective and exploring effective mechanisms to confront them.
