As part of the ongoing development of postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Law, Zagazig University, Ministerial Decree No. 2031, dated September 9, 2026, has been issued approving the updated postgraduate studies regulations under the credit-hour system.
The updated regulations introduce several key changes. Each course will be graded out of 100 marks, including 70 marks for the written examination and 30 marks for coursework. Students must obtain at least 60 marks to pass, while oral examinations have been removed from the assessment system for postgraduate diploma courses.
The regulations also include updated academic courses and newly introduced subjects designed to reflect recent developments across different fields of law.
Two pathways are now available for obtaining a Master’s degree. The first requires completing two postgraduate diplomas, one of which must be in Public Law or Private Law. The second requires completing one postgraduate diploma followed by preparing and publicly defending a thesis in accordance with the applicable academic regulations.
These updates reflect the Faculty’s commitment to enhancing postgraduate education, legal research, and academic programs in line with contemporary developments in legal studies.
